Delete your Serbs.social account
Serbs.social, provided by Parada Co Pty Ltd (ABN 73 703 107 180) · Last updated: 19 October 2026
This page is for the Serbs.social app for Android and iPhone, provided by Parada Co Pty Ltd. It explains how to ask us to delete your Serbs.social account and the information linked to it, what we delete, and what we keep and for how long. You do not need to have the app installed to ask. It follows sections 9 and 10 of our Privacy Policy.
Delete your account in the app
- Open Serbs.social and sign in.
- Open Settings from the top of your profile.
- Scroll to the end of Settings and tap the red Delete account row.
- Read what we delete and what we keep, then tap Delete my account.
- When the app asks Delete your account?, tap Delete account.
- The app shows Your account will be deleted with your request number. Your request reaches us at once.
When you confirm, the app removes its copies of your photos from that phone and signs you out on that phone. If you sign in again before we finish, your account works until it is deleted.
You can also ask from Settings → Privacy → Ask for a copy or deletion: tap Request deletion, then tap Request deletion again to confirm. The app then shows Deletion requested and your request number. On this route you stay signed in, and your account keeps working until it is deleted.
If the app already shows Deletion requested, we have your request and you do not need to ask again.
How long it takes
We delete your account within 30 days of your request and email you when it is done. As soon as your account is deleted, you can no longer use Serbs.social. Your sign-in login (which holds your email address) is deleted a few days after the rest of your account.
If a child-safety matter about your account is open, or has been referred to an authority such as the police, we may not be able to complete the deletion until that matter is closed.
If you cannot use the app
You can ask without the app and without reinstalling it. Email support@serbs.social from the email address you use to sign in, with the subject Delete my Serbs.social account. If you know your username, include it.
If you cannot send from that address, write to us anyway and tell us your username. We may ask a few questions to make sure the account is yours, and we ask only for what we need.
This also works if you signed in to Serbs.social but never joined the beta: we then delete your sign-in login, which holds your email address.
Before you delete
- Deletion cannot be undone.
- If you want a copy of your information first, ask before you delete: in the app use Settings → Privacy → Ask for a copy or deletion → Request my data, or email us. We email you a copy within 30 days.
- You do not have to delete your account to remove things. You can delete your own posts, comments and stories, unsend your messages, and remove a tag of you from a photo at any time.
What we delete
When we delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information:
- your profile: username, display name, bio, city and other profile details, links, and your profile and cover photos;
- your posts, comments, reactions, saved posts and collections, and your stories, with the list of who viewed or liked them;
- your posts and comments in communities, the events you host and any business profile you own;
- the photos and videos you uploaded, including photos you sent in messages. Their stored files are queued for deletion and removed from our storage by our clean-up process;
- the messages you sent, which are removed from the conversations of the people you sent them to (they show as unsent), and your Serbs World messages;
- your follows, blocks and mutes, your community and event memberships, and your place in group chats (you leave each one);
- your notifications and notification settings and, when push notifications are on, your device tokens;
- your sign-in sessions, your beta access, invitations and waitlist entry;
- your privacy choices, the notices you acknowledged and the record of your acceptance of the Terms of Use;
- translations of your posts and comments;
- the technical records of the checks on your photos and videos, and your upload and usage counts;
- your entries in call records and your call usage counts, when calls are on;
- the notes you wrote in reports you made;
- your sign-in login, which holds your email address, a few days after the rest.
We also remove you from our TestFlight tester list and our website's sign-up list if you are on them.
Your account stays only as an empty placeholder with no name, username or email address, shown to others as "Deleted account", so that other people's conversations keep their shape.
What we keep, and for how long
Some records stay for a limited time, or for a legal or safety reason:
- A record of the deletion. We keep a record that your account was deleted, so we can repeat the deletion if we ever have to restore a backup. It holds the account's random identifier, the request's identifier and status, when the account was deleted, who carried it out, whether it was a serious-breach deletion, and the follow-up steps and when each was done. It holds no name, email address or content. Until your sign-in login is deleted, it also holds a one-way code of the login, so we can see when it is gone. We have not yet set an end date for this record. We also keep a copy of it outside our hosting provider, in a password manager, for about 8 days.
- Backups. Copies can remain in our hosting provider's daily backups for up to 7 days before they are overwritten. If we ever restore a backup, we first delete again every account deleted since that backup was taken.
- Child-safety records. If our automatic check, or a member's report, raised a possible child-safety matter about your account, we keep a record of it (the account, the time, fingerprints of the file and the check's scores) for 2 years, even if you delete your account. While the matter is open or has been referred to an authority, we keep the record, with any reported photo we are holding hidden, until the matter is closed. A record that was closed as a mistake and never referred is deleted with your account.
- Serious breaches. If your account was removed for a serious breach of our Terms of Use, we may keep a record of that, with the related moderation records and a one-way code of your sign-in login, so that you cannot simply rejoin. In that case your sign-in login may be blocked instead of deleted. We have not yet set an end date for these records.
- Reports. Reports you made about other people stay, without your note, so that moderators can finish their work. They are deleted on the usual schedule: a report about a post 12 months after it was made, and other reports and the evidence kept with them at the latest 12 months after they are closed (evidence for a decision under appeal is kept until the appeal is decided). Unless your account was removed for a serious breach, the moderation records about your account (warnings, suspensions, appeals and reports about your content) are deleted with your account.
- Calls (when calls are on). A record of a call you took part in can remain for the other people in it, without your account, for 90 days after the call ended.
- Totals without names. Counts that do not identify you stay: for example photo and video totals (up to 400 days), weekly ranking totals and monthly call totals (13 months). We may also keep a one-way, de-identified record that a Founding Member badge was issued.
- Our internal audit log keeps account identifiers and event codes after an account is deleted, but no name, email address or content. We have not yet set a fixed period for it.
- Service and security logs. Our hosting provider's request logs are kept for about a week, and sign-in security records (which include IP addresses) are deleted after 90 days.
- Emails you send us. We keep them while we deal with your message and any follow-up, and then only as long as we need a record of how we handled it.
- Our service providers. Our email provider, Resend, keeps a copy of each sign-in email it sent you for 30 days. The other providers named in section 6 of the Privacy Policy (such as the photo and video checking service and, when they are on, the call and notification providers), and Apple and Google for app testing, keep their own records under their own terms. We have not yet confirmed every provider's deletion period.
- Copies other people made. Other members may have saved or taken screenshots of what you shared. We cannot delete their copies.
